Who started it all...
Stuart Duncan
James Baker
Michael Holland
Club Chairman : Stuart Duncan
Stuart was the original brains behind the name of the club. As a former events manager at Epsom Racecourse, he was going to obtain sponsorship for the club and use the name as a bargaining tool. Being the 'tool' (ie Spanner) that he is, he got it all tits up, and is currently the proud owner of our green Pro Star kit, which we bought in good faith of sponsorship that neer happened. Thus he paid for it! We are slowly paying him off by letting him off sign on fee's and weekly subs.
Club Secretary : Michael Holland
Mike took over the Secretary role from Stuart after the first season, when Stu decided to go off and travel the world. Since then he has had the honourable task of trying to organise this bunch of unruly lemons every Sunday morning. It was also Mikes idea to have a green kit, much to the dismay of many of the players and other staff.
Reserves Secretary : Jamie Bramwell
Description To Follow...
Club Treasurer : James Baker
James started out as our Chairman and had limited responsibility, but in the re shuffle during Stuart's departure, he was appointed as Treasurer. James took the bull by the horns and sorted out a bank account for the club. Amongst his other duties of putting up the nets and washing kits, Mellberg also keeps a close eye on the accounts, fines and subs fee's.
Hon. Club President : Mark Bickell
Mark started out in the original Downs of 2004, but followed his dream the season after of starting an 11 a side team based on the hightly successful 5 a side outlet Dynamo Trilbiev. After an extremely up and down season for them he decided to re ignite the flame that burned inside him for Downs, and promptly returned the following season, assuming the role of Club Chairman. We have promoted him to Honorary President in keeping with the original founder members as key staff. Mark has tremendous attributes in organisation and research, and is a valued assett to the squad both on and off the pitch.
First Team Manager : James Baker
James took over the reigns (to add to his list of duties) after former manager Andrew Baker left the club to spend time with his family. A serious knee injury has seen James out of the game for over a year, but during the 2007/08 season, he has begun to make a comeback. The Management position is only temporary for James as The Downs look to fill both management spots in the 1st's and Reserve squads.
Reserves Team Manager : Jamie Bramwell
Jamie was one of the original founders of the reserves former guise of Cheam Park Athletic. Like James in many ways, he uses his knowledge both on and off the pitch as a player manager. After a shaky but not unexpected start to life in the Morden & District, Jamie made the executive decision to make the move to Epsom Downs with his boys and form our reserves. We look forward to sharing his knowledge and experience (and stealing his good players).
